The Fly Oracle

A collage art oracle card showing a fly surrounded by acid yellow smoke and light standing under a spotlight high above it surrounded by swarms of open seeing eyes. An antique scroll reads The Fly. Found Oracles

You flick on the light in the bathroom a millisecond after you register that there was already a light on when you entered. The after-image of a small, intense light in one spot on the wall is still visible when you blink. You back up to the light switch again, moving slowly for… reasons. You’re not really sure, and you can’t explain it, but somehow you know you need to see that little light again. Something there is important to you right here, right now.

Eyes fixed on the spot you thought it was, you lower the switch again to make the bathroom dark. The light is still there, always was there, only washed out in the illumination of the overhead bulbs. It glows acid yellow and as you peer to get a better look, smoke of the same color fills the room. You swear you feel thousands of tiny gazes looking at you from every angle and that’s when you see it, there on the tile - the spirit of an ancient fly in the very middle of the light show. Smoke swirls around its feet and wings as it stares right at you.

You have found The Fly oracle, and it has a story to share with you today.

The Fly Oracle says:

All eyes are on you right now. People are watching intently to see what you will do next. Because you are about to do something next, aren’t you. You’re about to do something big. You are preparing behind the scenes to show up in a way that puts you totally on view, where you cannot help but turn heads and capture attention of everyone around you.

There’s a spotlight on you right and now and you may not even be aware of it yet. That’s because no one is saying too much. No one is commenting on it, or it’s just a tiny bit of noise - the tiniest buzzing fly kind of sound. For now, those watching aren’t sure what to say. There is nothing much to say yet. So they’re just observing, following along wherever they can to see what’s next for you.

Some might say: Oooh ewwww creepyyyy they’re spying. But no one tells you this about increased visibility: When you are visible, it means people watch. Including in some places where you thought you closed the door but it’s still open a crack - just big enough for

A lot of the people watching are just curious. Their attention is stuck on you because your “it” factor is showing. They don’t know what they’re looking at but they can tellthat it’s something they should keep their eye on.

Many of those watching are inspired. They see where you were and where you might be and where you could be heading and that means something to them - something that makes them take action in their own lives, too.

And some of them, not too few of them actually, are keeping an eye out for the tell that will let them know it’s time to come toward you with an offer they’ve been contemplating: a job, a collaboration, a community, an invite, an opportunity. When you open that door and let everyone see you and what you’re up to, they are ready to walk through it to you.

It doesn’t have to be the door to fame, or stages, or literal spotlights - although it could be, if that’s what you’ve been wanting. There are all sorts of ways to be seen and loved by many.

Crowds do tend to attract a few flies: the gossips and spies and monitoring spirits and would-be energy harvesters and bottom feeders. They’re as insignificant to what you are doing now as a few gnats among thousands gathered to watch the big fan tour announcement.

Let them keep that rapt attention on you. They can watch with everyone else who is waiting to see you in all your glory.
