The Leo Oracle

A collage art story card shows a lion walking a cat walk in a purple leather vest with a golden aura shining like a crown around its head. An antique scroll reads The Leo. Found Oracles

You find yourself in a dark and quiet gathering hall just off the edge of some event you were attending. You were trying to find the exit to get on to the next stop of the night, but now you are here in this vast place with the lights off and no one else in sight.

You look back over your shoulder at the lit corridor you just sauntered down. You don’t know where your friends disappeared to, and even the din of the party you just left is inaudible in this part of the building. You should go find your besties, link arms and carry on your way to dinner or wherever you said you were going next. But this room is intriguing you. There’s an atmosphere to it and you don’t know why, but you can tell that something is important for you right here, right now.

Stepping fully into the room, you let the door close softly behind you. You move to the center - or what you think must be the center - of the space. As your eyes adjust, you can see what looks like a row of chairs. You take one at the very front of the row, crossing one leg over the other, expectant, like you’re waiting for something to begin.

In a flash, purple and gold and orange and white lights pop on so bright you can feel your pupils contract. In front of you: a runway, a catwalk, and you at the very end of it. Around you: empty chairs lined up around the perimeter for the show. You barely have time to register it all when, from the back, a fierce lion struts out onto the platform working a purple leather vest. It stomps its way toward you, strikes its pose, then turns on its heels and strides back toward the entrance. Midway, the lion stops and throws its head back over its shoulder, fixing its intense gaze right onto you.

You have found The Leo oracle, and it has a story to share with you today.

The Leo oracle says:

You radiate light into every room you enter with the high-beam torch of your inner fire. You bring the warmth where there was none, the energy where it was depleted, and the swagger where it is sorely needed. Before you even say a word, your presence says everything people need to know about who has just arrived. Your entrance feels like the entire room just woke up and snapped to attention.

Yes, your taste is immaculate. Yes, your expression is unmatched. Yes, your creativity is as wild and free and fearsome as a roaring lion itself. But it’s more than that, too. When you carve your path, it’s signature. It’s one of one. It breaks the mold of what others have done before. You are not afraid to do something exactly the opposite of the safe and muted norm that others may be comfortable with. And without you even asking them to - without you even necessarily wanting them to - others follow where you walk.

Other people try on your movements, your mannerisms, your lifestyle, your fashion sense, your creative ideas like they’re a new “it” accessory. You did that winged eyeliner that one time and everyone showed up with it the next week. Or how about the time you cut your hair in that particular way and before you knew it, everyone was wearing it like that. Or the time you got into sourdough or pickleball or film noir or mystery vacations for a season and everyone was suddenly the biggest fan of the same thing, too. When you are the king and queen of the jungle, you are the clear choice to show the way - a trendsetter, a tastemaker, a born leader, naturally.

Some people may think you’re full of baseless bravado. They may call you vain or accuse you of being the drama. When, in your personal vocabulary, drama isn’t a bad word at all. Is everything over the top in your world? Yes. Everything you do - in fact, everything you consider worth doing at all - you’re going to take it to the max. That includes your innate generosity, hospitality, and kindness too. You wouldn’t have it any other way, and neither would the people around you who understand that the heat you bring also gives you the warmest heart.

The people who mistake your vivacity for audacity (although you do have plenty of that, too) may think that your warmth and shininess is all at surface level. Maybe they even try to tell themselves that your unswerving confidence is an act. But in reality, it comes from knowing and loving exactly what you are about - in every given moment - then making every choice and selection and movement accordingly.

Although you never mind the applause - in fact, maybe you live for it just a little bit - you don’t need anyone’s permission. Not to move the way you move. Not to take up all the space. Not to command a venue in the way that only you know how: with all eyes and hearts and thoughts on you.

You’re the one who shows up to the function with a posse in tow and gives a complete stranger the designer vest off your back when their wardrobe malfunctions. Eventually you’ll feel the spotlight calling and say something like: Let’s hit the stage. Then, with six friends you’ve known forever and four you made just that night, you lead the way to a VIP booth at the karaoke spot next door. Those who are there for it are 100% in - they can’t even help themselves. They belt out “Goodbye Earl” right along with you as they’re pulled along to see and experience whatever brilliant, dazzling scene you’ll be inviting them into next.
